Hamilton City Council approved a free transit fare pilot for children between the ages of 6 to 12 until Apas part of the Hamilton Street Railway’s post-COVID efforts to encourage people to return to public transit.įamilies must purchase a PRESTO card to be able to board buses without paying a fare. The Hamilton Public Library will distribute free PRESTO cards for children ages 6 to 12, beginning after Family Day, February 21, 2022. When the child turns 13, contact the HSR Customer Service Centre/City Hall or Municipal Centres to update the PRESTO card to a youth card. Additional card(s) must be purchased from a PRESTO vendor.
